My name is Courtney. I am a reformed picky eater who is still admittedly finicky when it comes to certain foods (eek raw meat!). But, even before I began expanding my palate and fell headfirst into cooking, the kitchen was our family gathering place. My mom cultivated such a fun interest in healthy foods that my brother ended up going to culinary school! Now, my absolute favorite thing to do is experiment in the kitchen with them when we’re all back home.
I’m currently working in communications and marketing, but I have a journalism degree and love to write in my free time. I also LOVE to bake – cupcakes and cookies were my “gateway” into the rest of the culinary world. My sweet tooth is extremely overactive, so I try to balance it with healthy meals and gym visits.
My cooking philosophy is simple: I want to make (and share) delicious, real food. Sometimes I go a little sugar crazy, but overall, I strive to find a healthy balance. Throughout these kitchen adventures, I am lucky to have a wonderful boyfriend who gamely tries my cooking hits and misses. He is far more daring than I am when it comes to different ingredients, which helps push me outside my food comfort zone!
Oh, yeah: Why PB & Pinot? Peanut butter and Pinot Noir happen to be my absolute favorite things: my desert island allowances! They obviously aren’t in all of my recipes, but it only seemed right that the food and wine I love most represent me here.
